Protect your Zeta account with 2FA
Two-factor keeps your scan history, family members, and payment info safe even if your password leaks.
Setup steps
1. Enable in settings
Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor. Tap “Turn on 2FA.”
2. Choose method
Select Authenticator App (recommended) or Email OTP. Scan the QR code with your authenticator if chosen.
3. Confirm backup codes
Save the 10 backup codes in a password manager. You’ll need them if you lose device access.
Troubleshooting
Authenticator code not accepted
Check that your phone time is synced automatically. Out-of-sync clocks cause invalid OTPs.
Tip: In Google Authenticator, enable “Time correction for codes.”
Lost phone
Use one of your backup codes when logging in, then disable 2FA from the new device and re-enable it.
Tip: If you lost codes too, email security@zeta.app with ID verification.
Email OTP delayed
Whitelist notifications@zeta.app. Some providers throttle links; request a new code after 60 seconds.
Tip: Consider switching to an authenticator app.
